CHECK-IN

  • Check-in is Friday, March 22, at 5:00pm in the Main Atrium at the Hodges Campus. ➡️ Your student will not be checked in unless all forms and payments are completed prior to arrival.

  • WE WILL NOT BE SERVING DINNER - PLEASE EAT BEFORE YOU COME OR BRING FOOD WITH YOU. (FOOD MUST BE EATEN BEFORE GETTING ON THE BUS - NO FOOD ON BUSES!)

  • The buses will leave Hodges Campus 6:00pm sharp. Parents are responsible for driving any student who is late to Epworth By the Sea (so don't be late - it takes 1 1/2 hrs to get there!). ➡️ NO STUDENT DRIVERS without prior approval! (Your travel request form must be completed by a parent/guardian and received  on or before 3/21/24. WHAT TO BRING

  • Students are allowed ONE carry-on size travel bag and ONE backpack. This is very important in order for us to be able to fit all students, leaders, and their luggage on the buses.

  • BIBLE, pen, sleeping bag and/or twin-size sheets and blanket, pillow, towel, sunscreen, water bottle, 3-4 changes of clothes, toiletries (shampoo, soap, DEODORANT, toothpaste, bug spray etc.) - you are staying in cabins so you need to bring your own towels and toiletries.

  • Closed-toed shoes are mandatory.

  • Snacks can be brought to leave in cabins only, and students are responsible for cleaning up after themselves.

  • Students can bring money for snacks at the retreat store.

WHAT NOT TO BRING

  • Weapons of any kind (including pocketknives, fireworks, shirts with alcohol or tobacco ads on them, any alcohol, tobacco or vape products, water balloons or pranking materials of any kind). Use logic - if you know it shouldn't come with you, don't bring it.

  • Cell phones will be collected throughout the weekend to help students focus and engage with their community Groups. We encourage you to leave your cell phone at home to avoid distractions. Parents will be given a staff list of phone numbers in case an emergency call is needed.

  • Below are your team color assignments for THRIVE 2023. Bring as much to wear of this color as you would like. Team spirit is important! (headbands, face paint, colored shirts/shorts/socks, etc)

SPECIAL TRAVEL NEEDS

  • If your student has a schedule conflict due to a school activity or Spring Break family travels, a parent/guardian will need to complete our THRIVE Travel Form. We don't want to leave a student behind or delay our departure due to bad communication!
